Dates Burfi (khajur Ki Barfi)
Dates Burfi is a classic sweet to celebrate the festival of lights. It is tasty, healthy and has only the sweetness of dates. This sweet is the one that we often eye for in the mithai shop. It is tempting isn't it?
200 grams Dates
50 grams Cashewnuts
50 grams Almonds
50 grams Pistachois
1 tablespoon Ghee
2 tablespoon Poppy seeds
Cut the dates into small pieces. If the dates have seeds, do remove them.
Cut the dry fruits into small pieces and keep them separately.
Grind the dates to a pulp.
Dry roast the dry fruits separately until they are crisp.
Dry roast the poppy seeds, it should be crunchy.
Take a pan, add ghee. Heat it. Then, add the puree and saute it for sometime.
Then, add the roasted dry fruits, mix and remove it. Keep it aside.
Grease your hands with a little ghee. Take the mixture, roll into cylindical shape, dip it in roasted poppy seeds.
Refrigerate for two hours. Later, cut into pieces and serve.
You can use any other dry fruits also.
