Rhomesecret Recipe: Fruit Sasum

This traditional & delicious Chitrapur Saraswat Bharmin recipe was first made at Renaissance Mumbai's Lake View Cafe as a part of RHomeSecrets.
This a traditional recipe, served mainly during weddings. Its easy, quick and best part does not involves any cooking. The sweet & sour taste tingles your taste buds and crave for more.

Ingredients: 
Mangoes – 2 - 3
Pineapple – 1/2
Oranges – 2 - 3
Sweet Lime – 2 - 3
Seedless Grapes (green, black , red) – ¼ - 1/2 kg
Pomegranate – 1 – 2
Apple – 1 – 2
Banana – 2
Fresh Coconut (scraped) – ½ bowl
Dry red chillies – 4 – 5
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Jaggery - ½ cup
Salt to taste
Tamarind – small pebble size (optional- depends on the sourness of fruits)
Passion fruit - 2 -3
Directions: 
Cut all fruits expect grapes and keep aside.
Peel pomegranate & passion fruit, remove the seeds & pulp and keep aside.
Mix all the fruits in a big bowl (reserve some for garnishing) marinate them with salt and jaggery.
Keep them in a freeze until required.
Now grind fresh scrape coconut, chillies, tamarind(optional) and mustard into a paste.
Add this paste to the marinated fruits and mix well.
Garnish it with the reserve fruits and serve.
