Moong Dal Halwa
Split yellow moong dal – 1 Cup (Washed and soaked for 4 hours)
Saffron – few strands (soaked in the 1 tbsp warm milk)
Warm Milk – 1 Cup
Ghee – ¾ Cup
Green Cardamom Powder – ¼ tsp
Sugar – 1 Cup
Almonds – 10 to 12 (chopped)
Cashews – 10 to 12 (chopped)
Raisins – 12 to 15
Drain off the excess water from soaked moong dal. Now take blander, add moong dal and make a coarse paste. Add some water, if required.
Heat ghee in a non sticky pan. Add dal paste and stir continuously till the ghee starts separating and turns golden brown in colour.
Add warm milk and 1 cup of warm water and cook it for 4-5 minutes on low flame.
Add sugar. Mix well and cook till sugar get dissolves completely
Now add saffron milk, green cardamom powder, almonds, cashews, raisins. Mix well and cover with the lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Once it is done, transfer it into the serving bowl and serve hot
