Simple Chicken Do Pyaza ( Chicken Cooked With Onions)

Do pyaza is a style of cooking with lots of onions. 'Do Pyaza' means Onions added twice to the gravy. I am sharing today my favorite chicken do pyaza recipe. You can also prepare "do pyaza" style recipes with any vegetable.

Ingredients:
Chicken - 250 grams
Onion - 1 onion ( sliced)
Onion paste - 1 onion
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tablespoon
Red chilli powder - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tablespoon
Cumin Powder - 1 Tablespoon
Garam Masala - 1/2 tablespoon
Salt - 1 tablespoon
Oil - 6 tablesppon
Directions:
Wash the chicken and keep aside.
Heat oil in a karahi and add the sliced onions. Fry the onions till they become brown. Transfer them to a plate and keep aside.
In the remaining oil add the washed chicken. Fry for a minute.
Add onion paste, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder and cumin powder. Fry till the masala leaves the oil from the sides. Now add in salt and required amount of water (for curry consistency) and mix.
Cover with a lid and cook till the chicken is well done. Finally add garam masala and fried onions and cook again for 3 to 4 minutes more.
Serve hot with plain rice or chapati.
Footnotes:
You can use boneless chicken to reduce the time of cooking.
