Very Easy

Ingredients:
For Vada:
Suji (Semolina) – 1Cup
Yoghurt – 1 cup
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
Soda – a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil to fry vadas
For Chutney:
Onion - 1 medium sized roughly chopped
Red chilies – 2 or as per taste
Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon
Ginger – ½ inch piece
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tablespoons
Tamarind – a small marble sized ball (optional)
Directions:
For Vada, soak the semolina in yoghurt for 15 to 20 mintues to make the vada batter. The batter should be thick like vada batter and thus avoid adding any water.
After 20 mintues add cumin seeds, soda and salt to taste and mix.
Heat oil in a pan. Wet your hands with little water. take some batter in your plam and form rounded vada and slowly drop into the hot oil.
Fry 2-3 vadas at a time. Once cooked these vadas will puff up like puries as we have added yoghurt. Fry till light brown and serve with chutney.
For Chutney, heat a tablespoons of oil in a pan. Add chopped onions, red chilies, cumin and ginger and sauté over medium flame.
As the onions change their colour into light brown, switch off the flame.
Add the salt to taste and grind the mixture to get nice onion and chilli chutney.
Footnotes:
Add tamarind while grinding the chutney if you wish to.
