Manglorean/Udupi Recipes

Mangalorean cuisine is a collective name given to the cuisine of Tulu Nadu region of India which comprises cuisines like Udupi as well as cuisine of other Mangalorean communities such as the Saraswat Brahmins, Mogaveeras, Billavas, Bunts, Mangalorean Catholics and the Bearys.

Udupi is a small town in the state of Karnataka, hence the name of the cuisine. Udupi food is very famous among the entire southern part of India. Udupi cuisine adheres to the Satvik tradition of indian cooking, which means using no onion, garlic, meat, fish or poultry. Some of the very famous dishes like Masala Dosa and Sambar is Udupi.
