Aamti ( Maharastrian Lentils)

Aamti Bhath is a very popular Maharastrian dish. Aamti is nothing but lentils (Dal) with special Maharastrian spice mixture called Goda Masala.

2 Cups boiled Toor Dal
1 Tsp mustard seeds
Few Curry leaves
1/2 tsp asafoetida
2 Green Chilies
1 Tsp Turmeric
Salt to taste
Jaggery to taste
2 to 3 Kokum
1 tsp GodaMasala ( optional)
2 Tsp Oil
Boil the dal in water with the turmeric. Once done set aside.
Heat the oil in kadhai, once hot, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, and green chilies. Add the boiled dal and let it simmer for a minute. Add kokum, goda masala, salt to taste and jaggery. Let it simmer on low heat for a few minutes more, garnish with corriander. Serve hot with white rice
