Bread Bajji (bread Pakoda)

Different types of pakodas can be made using vegetables such as potato, onion etc. This bread pakoda is a variety pakoda which can be served as a tea-time snack. I had it sometime earlier from my friend's home and thought to try it myself. It can be easily prepared at home and its good when served hot. Just give it a try and you will love this crispy, tasty snack.

Very Easy

Bread- 6 slices
Gram flour- 1 cup
Red chilli powder- 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Asafoetida powder-1/2 tsp
Salt- as required
Water- as required
Coconut oil-as required
For making the batter, mix the gram flour, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida powder and water using hand. The batter should have a thick consistency so that the bread slices get fully coated in the batter
Remove the sides of the bread and cut each of the bread slices diagonally into two pieces
Dip each of the bread slices into the batter so that the bread slice gets fully covered with the batter.
Heat coconut oil in a pan
Deep fry each of the batter coated bread slices in coconut oil until they turn brown in colour. Serve hot with tomato or chilli sauce
While frying the pakodas, be careful that the bread slices do not get over-fried. It is better to fry in medium flame.
