Bread Halwa (rotti Aluva)

This is a very sweet recipe made of bread. Bread halwa is a variety halwa that is filled with the taste of ghee, milk and bread. You can use wheat/ plain bread for this recipe. Apart from the normal halwas, this bread halwa is very easy to make and hence you can easily surprise your guests with this delicious recipe.

Ingredients: 
Bread - 15 slices
Sugar- 1 cup
Milk- 3cups
Cashew nuts- 10
Ghee- 6 tbsp
Directions: 
Grease a flat tray with ghee and keep aside
Cut the bread slices into small pieces
Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts into it. Fry till the cashew nuts turn golden brown in colour
Add the remaining ghee to the pan and add the bread pieces to it and stir for 5 minutes
Add the milk and stir well until the bread slices gets cooked well
When the bread pieces gets cooked well, switch off the flame and add the fried cashew nuts into it and mix well
Transfer to the greased tray and allow it to cool

Bread halwa can be served hot or cooled as you wish
You can use either sweet or plain bread as you wish
