Chana Masala (chickpeas Gravy)

Chana Masala is an all time favourite recipe of all veggie lovers. This is an easy prepaaration. Chickpeas are very punjabi and this recipe is a bit different from the original chole or chana masala recipe... but equally delicious

Jisha Ranade's Secret Indian Recipe !

Chickpeas soaked overnight: 1 Cup
Onions: 2
Tomatoes: 2
Bay leaf: 1
Cinnamon, Cardamom and clove: 2 each
Ginger paste: 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander powder: 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder:1/2 tsp
Garam Masala: 1 tsp
Amchur powder : 1 tsp
Sugar: 2 pinches
Coriander chopped for garnishing
Kasoori Methi: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli powder: 1 Tsp
Oil: to cook
Pressure cook the chickpeas in water along with 2 Tsp salt and 2 pinches of Turmeric powder
Grind the ginger, onions and tomatoes to a fine mixture
In a kadhai heat oil about 3 tbsp
Add the khada masala and saute for a min.
Add the onion-tomato mixture and saute on medium heat for 15 mins on medium heat or till oil leaves sides of the masala
Add salt to taste coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and cook for 2 mins more
Add the boiled chickpeas and garam masala
Cook on medium heat for 3 to 4 mins
Add kasoori methi and Amchur powder and sugar cook for min more
Turn off the heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot
You may boil the chickpeas in tea water for extra black colour
