It is a traditional Punjabi recipe called as Chickpea in english, best eaten with bhatura or naan or pav.

Chole(chickpea) 3cups soaked overnight in water.
Onions - 3 lenghtwise cut , thin
Tomatoes - 4
Ginger - garlic paste - 2tbsp
Green chillies - 2
Garam Masala for taste
Chole Masala - 1tbsp
Salt,red chilly pwd, dhania pwd.
Moti Elaichi(black cardamon)
Chana dal half cup
Maida -500gms
Drinking Soda bottle 1
Curd - half cup
In a cooker add the chole(chickpea) with the chana dal and moti elaichi, salt and water for boiling, give 4-5 whishtles on full flame and 3 on slow flame , off the gas. In a Kadhai add oil 2 tbsp add ginger garlic paste, saute then add the onions and let it turn golden brown , meanwhile in a mixer grind tomatoes and green chillies and add this in the onion masala , roast the masala ,then add salt, red chilly pwd, dhania pwd, chole masala and little garam masala cook this masala till the oil is coming out from the edges .Now add this in the Chole which is in the cooker and cook again , the gravy has to be thick ,cook till that consistency.Garnish with fresh coriander.
For the Instant Bhatura:- Take maida, curd and salt mix well , now make a soft dough by adding drinking soda and not water.let it set for minimum half an hour or 1 hour. Now heat oil for frying in a kadhai and roll out the bhaturas in oval or round shape as per your convenience and put in the very hot oil....and let it rise. Serve with the Chole.
Donot soak the chana dal with the chole it has to be addeed last minute
