Dhaba Style Spicy Chicken Curry
This is in fact a recipe by my Aunt... Love the spice in the curry and the flavors are to die for
Chicken 1/2 or 500 gms
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Red chilli powder 2 Tsp
Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
Garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
Yogurt 4 tablespoon
Khada masala - cinnamon stick 1
Bay leaf 2
Badi Elaichi 2
Mustard Oil 7 tablespoon
Salt to taste
Garam Masala 1.5 tsp
Dhana Jeera Powder 1 teaspoon
For garnishing - Ghee, kasoori methi and chopped coriander
Marinate chicken in yogurt and turmeric powder for 1 hour.
Make a paste out of the onions and puree the tomatoes. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
Add all khada masala and let splutter.
Now add in the onion paste cook for 2 mins.
Add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, dhanajeera and mix.
Add tomato pure. Cook for 5 mins on medium heat.
Add the marinated chicken along with the marinade.
Add salt, garam masala and mix well.
Add 1/4 cup of water and pressure cook up to 3 whistles.
When all pressure is released add crushed kasoori methi and chopped coriander.
Add a dollop of ghee just before serving.
Your dhaba style chicken curry is ready.
Slit green chillies can also be added ad garnish
