Puja Darshan's Secret Indian Recipe !

Preparation Time:
Cooking Time:

Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
Plain flour (maida) - 1 1/4 cups
Baking powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Soda bi-carb - 1/2 tsp
Condensed milk - 3/4 cup
Melted butter - 4 tbsp
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 cup
Butter - 1/2 tsp (melted, for greasing)
Plain flour (maida) - for dusting
Grease a 175 mm. (7”) diameter cake tin with butter on all the sides. Dust it with plain flour and sift to ensure uniform distribution of the flour.
Shake and tap the tin onto the plate
Remove the excess flour and keep it aside.
Now in a deep bowl add plain flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and soda bi-carb. Mix well and keep aside.
Take another deep bowl combine the condensed milk, melted butter, vanilla essence and mix well.
Add the prepared plain flour-cocoa mixture to this mixture along with 6 tbsp of water and mix gently with spatula.
Pour the prepared cake batter into the greased and dusted tin and spread it evenly.
Now take a 5 liter pressure cooker.(Its better to use big size of the cooker in order to bake without any hassle)
Use the cooker plate to keep the distance between baking tray and cooker base.
This will help keep the baking tin away from the direct heat and the cake will not get burnt from the base.
Now keep the cooker plate in the cooker and then place the baking tin carefully on top of it ensuring it doesn't touch anywhere in the cooker.
Close the cooker lid, switch on the stove and preheat the cooker.
Open the lid of the pressure cooker, place the cake tin on the perforated plate. Cover it with a lid without the ring and whistle.
Steam on a medium for 20 to 22 minutes or till the cake is done.
Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Keep aside to cool for 10 minutes.
After 30 to 35 minutes of baking, open the cooker lid.
Take a toothpick and check if the cake is baked.
You can just poke toothpick at the center of cake. If it comes out clean, then your cake is ready.
And if not, you need to bake it for another 5-6 minutes.
Separate the cake from the baking tin using knife.
Now, take a plate. Cover it on top of the baking tin and flip it over, gently tap on top so that the cake is released.
Turn it upside down again.
Ensure that you remove the whistle and rubber from the cooker and keep it aside before you start making cake in the cooker. You can use Ghee instead of butter.(the quantity will remain the same) You can decorate the cake, the way you want to.
