Goond Ka Ladoo (tragacanth Ladoo)

Goond ka ladoo is a sweet dish recipe quite popular in Northern India. It is a rich sweet recipe with ingredients like dry fruits and loads of Ghee. Good during winter season as it keeps the body warm. It is also given to would be mothers and new mothers as it is instant source of energy and it rich in good fat.

Goond 250 grams (9 ounce)
Moong dal Besan 250 grams (9 ounce)
Atta (wheat flour) 200 grams (7 ounce)
Dry fruits (Cashew, almonds, pistachio,raisins) 250 grams (9 ounce)
Soonth (Dry ginger) 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder ½ tablespoon
Sugar 500 grams (18 ounce)
Ghee 300 grams (11 ounce)
Coarsely grind the dry fruits and keep aside.
In a karahi heat about 150 grams of ghee and sauté the goond and soonth till they become crispy fry. This will take around 10 mintues.
Then add the grounded dry fruits and sauté for a minute. Take it out in a large bowl and keep it to cool.
Again Put the karahi over the stove and add around 50 grams of ghee. Heat the ghee and pour the moong dal besan, turmeric powder and atta and fry it on low flame for 10-12 mintues. Stir occasionally so that it cannot burn.
Once the aroma starts coming take it out in the dry fruits bowl. Add the sugar and mix well.
Pour the dry fruits and goond mixture into the besan and atta mix. When it is still a little hot start making ladoos by taking small portions from the mixture. Once all the ladoos are made keep them under fan to dry and set.
Keep in air tight containers and enjoy for months.
