Green Masoor Pulao (whole Red Lentil Rice)

A tasty Pulao which can be cooked even if vegetables are not available at home.

3/4 bowl whole red lentil washed/ soaked in water for minimum half an hour
2 bowl basmati rice washed n kept aside to dry
1 big onion sliced
Green Paste to grind - 5-6 cloves, 1" cinamon, 2 cardmoms, 2-3 black pepper, 2-3 green chillies, 1 bowl corriander leaves
Ghee 2-3 table spoon
1" ginger grated
2 tea spoon corriander seeds and cumin seeds powder
1 bay leaf,
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
4 bowl water (same bowl used to measure rice)
Cashew nuts 14-15
Salt to taste
1) Put the pressure cooker on small flame. Put ghee add to it onion slice saute till brown add grated ginger to it and saute
Add turmeric powder and soaked red lentils saute for 2/3 minutes.
Add grounded green paste. Coriander/cumin powder saute. Add rice to it and mix well.
Add cashews, water, salt to taste and take two whistles.
This rice can be served with papad and raita
