Hara Paneer Pakora (paneer Snacks Coated With Green Chutney)

You must have had paneer pakora so many times and you must be wondering what is so special about this ‘ hara paneer pakora’?…. Actually… Nothing. It is a simple combination of Paneer and hara coriander chutney. In India, pakoras are incomplete without chutney and the most common is the coriander chutney. In Hara paneer pakora I actually put the chutney in the pakora and thus you do not need to serve it with any extra chutney…..and believe me, it is tastier.

Very Easy

(For the Chutney)
Green Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
Garlic cloves – 5-6 cloves
Green chilies – 2-3 pieces
Salt – ¼ teaspoon
Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
For Paneer Pakora
Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 200 grams
Besan (Gramflour) -1/2 cup
Turmeric powder -1 /2 teaspoon
Red chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – As per your taste.
Oil for frying.
The secret ingredient of this recipe is the coriander chutney in which the paneer is marinated. So, we have to first make the coriander chutney. Take the fresh coriander leaves and wash it thoroughly under running water. Keep it aside to drain excess water.
Now chop the coriander leaves in medium pieces and put it in a grinder. Add garlic cloves, green chilies and salt and then grind it into a smooth paste. Do not add any water because if the chutney is watery, it will not stick to the paneer.
Now pour the chutney in a big bowl and add the lemon juice.
Then cut the paneer pieces in small cubes or in rectangle pieces and marinate it in the coriander chutney for 30 mintues.
By the time paneer is being marinated, we can prepare the besan batter. For this take besan in a bowl and add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and required water to make a thick batter. The consistency of the batter should be such that it will cover the paneer and does not leak.
After paneer cubes are marinated, heat oil in a pan for frying pakoras.
Dip each paneer cube in besan batter and then put in hot oil to fry. Fry the pakoras till it turns golden brown. Follow the procedure for more pakoras.
Serve it hot with tea.
