Jackfruit Dilkush

Jackfruit is most prevailing during this time of the season i.e fall winters. The tenderness of Jackfruit is such that it tastes like non-veg dish if cooked properly. This recipe will give a unique taste of richness and creaminess like Non-veg gravy though it is purely a vegetarian dish. It is perfect for get together among friends and relatives for some refreshing and absolutely unprecedented taste.

Jackfruit (raw) boiled - 2 cups cut into small cubes
Boiled potatoes- 2 small size cut into small cubes
Onion- 3 finely chopped
Tomato- 2 finely chopped
Ginger paste- 1 tsp
Garlic paste- 1 ½ tsp
Mawa- 2 tbsp
Curd- 2 tbsp
Chilli powder- 1tsp
Whole garam masala- 2 elaichis, 2 Cloves, 1 cinamon sticks
Oil- 3tbsp
Ghee- 1 tbsp
Salt- to taste
Milk- 1 cup
Cashewnut- 10 nos
Haldi- ½ tsp
Garam masala powder- 1 tbsp
Jeera powder- 1tsp
Coriander powder- 1 ½ tsp
Cream for garnishing- 2 tbsp
Sugar- ½ tsp (optional)
Grind the cashewnuts with little milk to a fine paste. Heat the oil in a pan, add whole garam masala then add ginger, Garlic paste and sauté. Add onions and fry well, when it turns light brown colour add red chilli, tomatoes, curd, haldi, mawa and cook for a while. Then add Jackfruit and potatoes jeera, Dhania powder, cashew nut paste and cook well. Add salt when the gravy leaves the sides of the pan add milk and cook low flame till done. Sprinkle Garam masala powder and ghee, decorate with cream and dhaniya pata. Serve hot
