Kabulichana (soaked overnight)-250 grams
Grated coconut-3 tsp
Dry red chilli-3
Coconut oil-2 tsp
Clean, wash and soak kabulichana overnight with enough water. Next morning drain and keep aside.
Combine the kabulichana with water and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan adds mustard. When it splutters, add dry red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves and grated coconut.
We have to stir continuously until it turns brown colour.
Add cooked kabulichana to this mix and stir for 2 minutes in medium flame.
Now Kadala Sundal is ready to serve.
We can make different sundals by changing that item instead of chana.
