Kele Aur Aloo Ki Tikki( Raw Banana And Potato Snacks)
Raw banana is a good source of Iron and is therefore good for women and growing children. This recipe can offer you the goodness of banana in a tasty snacky way.
Aloo ( Potato) - 2 pieces
Kele ( Raw Banana) - 2 pieces
Grated Ginger - 1 tablespoon
Green Chilli - 2 pieces ( finely chopped)
Roasted Cumin Powder - 1 tablespoon
Garam masala Powder - 1/2 tablespoon
Refined Oil - 10 ml
Salt - 1/2 tablespoon
Raisins - 1 tablespoon
Besan - 3 tablespoon
Rice flour - 1-2 tbsp (Optional) (If Needed)
Finely chopped coriander- 1 tbsp
Boil Potato and Raw banana with their peel. You may pressure cook both, let it cook till four whistles. (The time may vary depending on size pf potatoes and thickness of bananas, I used medium sized bananas and potatoes) When cooked and cool take off the peel and mash them together in a large bowl.
Add grated ginger, cumin powder, green chilies, garam masala, coriander, raisins and salt. Mix all ingredients well. Use your hands for best results.
Make small balls out of the mixture and press with hands to make tikki shape. If the mixture is too sticky and mushy add one tablespoon of rice flour or dry roasted besan.
Roll the tikkis over dry besan and keep aside.
Heat oil in a karahi and shallow fry the tikkis till they turn golden brown on each side
For a healthier option, you can use a non stick pan and brush little oil over the tikkis and cook on low heat.
