Kesari Sitafal Shrikhand

Shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained yogurt. It is one of the main desserts in Maharashtrian cuisine and Gujarati cuisine.Custard Apple added to this creates a nice fruit yogurt.

Ingredients: 
Hung Curd(Chakka) 2 Cups
Sugar 8-10 tsp
CustardApple ¾ Cup
Chopped Almonds For Garnishing
Chopped Pistachios For Garnishing
Banana For Garnishing
Nutmeg Powder A Pinch
Elaichi Powder A Pinch
Saffron(Soaked in lukewarm milk) 8-10 strands
Orange For Garnishing
Directions: 
Take Hung Curd in a mixing bowl.(Hung curd can be prepared by tieing yogurt in muslin cloth and hang it for 3-4 hours until the excess water has dropped out).
Add Sugar to Hung Curd and mix well till it blends well till it becomes smooth.
Add Nutmeg Powder,Chopped dry fruits,Elaichi Powder & Saffron and mix well.Shrikhand is ready.
Add custard apple to shrikhand and keep it in refrigerator to chill.
Melt chocolate over double boiler and dip banana slices into it and make sure the banana is evenly coated with chocolate.Let it set for ½ hour.
Transfer the Sitafal Shikhand in serving bowls and garnish with chocolate-coated bananas,oranges and saffron.Serve Chilled. Enjoy the delicious treat.

The preparation time excludes the process of obtaining Hung Curd from yogurt(3-4 hours).
