Kesaribath (sheera)

Kesari bath or sheera is one of the most popular south Indian dish, it is often used as offering /Prasad to god during festival‘s, you can also make it on any occasion. Even children’s will love to eat this because of its taste and also it looks very attractive.

1 cup Sooji /Rava
1.5 cups sugar
2/3 cup ghee
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1.5 cup water
Saffron (as per requirement for color)
milk (to soak safroon)
Cashews, dry grapes, Raisins
Heat the pan on low flame and roast raisins and cashews in 2 tsp of Ghee till cashew changes its color to light brown and raisins plumps up.
Roast the Sooji /Rava on low flame in 1-2 Tbsp of Ghee until it is roasted and release its aroma and then transfer it to another plate
Soak the saffron in 1-2 tsp of milk.
Boil the water in pan and add rava /sooji and stire it well, add sugar and saffron milk and stir it well and close with a lid and heat it up in medium flame.
Once the liquid is completely absorbed add ghee and mix it up well, once Ghee set’s up well add cardamom powder, roasted cashews and raisins
Finally garnish the kesaribath with cashews and dry grapes. Allow the Kesari bath to cool down and then the dish is ready to serve
