I basically love Khandvi because it is light to have and at the same time very tasty.It is very famous among gujaratis.A must try dish from Gujarat.

Urvi Patel's Secret Indian Recipe !

Preparation Time:

15-20 mins.


Ginger- 1 inch
Green chillies- 6-7
Gram flour- 1 bowl
Fresh curd- 3/4 bowl
Water- One and a half bowl
Salt to taste.
Turmeric powder- a pinch.
Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
Asafoetida-1 tsp
Few curry leaves
Coriander leaves and grated coconut for garnishing-1 tbsp each.
In a big bowl mix gram flour and curd,blend it well.
Now add the water,turmeric powder,salt and strain it with a strainer.
In a non stick pan pour this mixture and mix it nicely stiring constantly,till the mixture is cooked well.
Now in the back side of a plate pour one big tbsp of this mixture and spread it flatly, cut into long strips and when cool, roll it and place it on a serving dish.
Now for the tempering - heat oil, add mustard seeds,add cumin seeds,curry leaves,sesame seeds,asafoetida.
Remove from heat and immediately pour on Khandvi, garnish with coriander leaves and grated coconut.
Use fresh curd.
