500 gm Fish Rohu
1 tsp Mustard or rai
2 -4 Green Chillies.
1 tsp Turmeric or haldi powder
1 tsp Mustard oil
Salt as per taste
Step 1- First get the fish cleaned thoroughly.Then marinate it with salt and turmeric powder for 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 2-In the meantime make mustard paste without adding much water in a grinder and strain the mustard paste with the help of a strainer and take out all the paste from the mustard. Keep it aside.
Step 3- Then make the green chillies paste in the same grinder. It has to be thick not watery. Keep it aside.
Step 4- Take a karahi heat it add some oil then fry the fishes in the karahi till golden brown or yellow. Keep it aside.
Step 5- In the same oil add the mustard paste if dry add little water and boil on low heat. When it gets a boil add the green chillies paste, turmeric powder and salt.
Step-6 When it starts boiling and gravy gets sticky on sides add the fishes. If the gravy is to dry add little water. Check the consistency of the gravy.
Step -7 Lastly add some mustard oil from sides of the curry or gravy. Give it a boil for 2-3 minutes. Switch off the gas your macher jhal is ready.
