Maharashtrain Boneless Chicken Curry
It is coconut based Maharastrian chicken curry. The key ingredient is the Malvani garam masala, which gives it a super spicy flavour.
Chicken cut into small pieces - 250 gms boneless
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Red Chilli powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Ginger Garlic and green chilli paste – 2 teaspoons
Fresh Coconut - 1
Oil - 1 table spoon
Malvani Garam Masala powder - 1 teaspoon
Onion - 1 ( Chopped)
Lime juice - 2 teaspoons
Wash and marinate the chicken pieces with ginger garlic chilli paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt to taste
Grind the coconut finely or grind and extract fresh coconut milk.
Put oil in pan , when hot add chopped onions, stir fry on high flame till they brown.
Add chicken pieces, water, Chilli powder ( if you want it spicy), malwani masala ready powder, and cook on low heat till chicken is soft and cooked nicely .
Add coconut which is grounded to a very fine paste and stir continuously so a smooth curry is formed..
Once it starts, boiling switch off the gas and keep on stirring for 1 minute ,so coconut paste remains homogenous.
Add lime juice and salt if required as per taste
Serve with rice and onions ( add lime, pepper,salt to taste)
