Moong Dal Poori Without Stuffing (split Green Gram Poori Without Stuffing )

It is a type of fried Indian flat bread.It is very unique. These pooris are mainly made with wheat flour and soaked moong dal paste.
I tasted this for the first time in my friend's house. Later I got the recipe from her mother.
I have tasted moong dal poori in many places . People usually make these pooris with stuffing .But I have never tasted this type elsewhere.
This dish is very simple but the taste and the smell is just superb.
Now a days this have become a frequent visitor in our breakfast plates.

Ankita Saha's Secret Indian Recipe !

Preparation Time: 
1 hour (including soaking time )
Cooking Time: 
15 minutes


Split green gram (moong dal )-1/2cup
Ginger -1/2inch
Cumin seeds -2/3 teaspoon
Onions ( chopped )-1/2 cup
Garlic- 5 cloves ( chopped )
Wheat flour -2 and 1/2 cup
Salt -as per taste
Oil-2 tablespoons and for frying
Green chillies -4(chopped )
Soak moong dal in water for 1 hour . After 1 hour drain out the water from the soaked dal.Mix the dal with onion, ginger, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds and make a paste with this in the grinder. Do not use water while making the paste.The paste should be very fine.
Now in a bowl combine wheat flour,salt, sugar, oil and the paste.
Then make a stiff dough. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes take required amount of dough and roll it like poori.
Now heat the oil and fry the pooris in medium flame.
Serve hot with aloo ki sabji and pickle.
You can also use refined flour instead of wheat flour.
