Paneer Lababdar (cottage Cheese In Spicy Creamy Gravy)

Paneer lababdar is a vegetarian side dish recipe. The word ‘ lababdar’ is a urdu word which means ‘thick gravy’. This recipe has thick creamy gravy and is usually served with laccha paratha or Naan.

Paneer (cottage cheese) -250 grams
Onion paste – 1 medium sized onion.
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tablespoon
Tomato Puree – 6 tablespoon
Curd – 2 tablespoon
Cashew paste – 2 tablespoon
Poppy seeds paste – 1 tablespoon
Kashmiri chilli powder = 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder – ½ tablespoon
Coriander powder - ½ tablespoon
Cumin powder – ½ tablespoon
Salt – to taste
Refined oil – 6 tablespoon
Cut paneer into triangular shape and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan and fry the paneer for 2-3 seconds and then take out.
In the remaining oil, add onion paste and ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute.
Now add tomato puree, curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well. Fry till the masala leaves the oil.
Add cashew paste, poppy seeds paste and salt and fry for a minute.
Finally add paneer and 1 cup of water and mix. Let it simmer on low heat for a minute.
Paneer lababdar is ready, serve it with Naan.
