Pasi Payaru Vada (sprouted Green Gram Dal Snack)

Last evening I was thinking of trying something different with sprouted green gram dal. My friend suggested me to do vada by using sprouted dal. I thought it would be a utter flop but to my surprise it came out well. I present here the method how I made it.

Ingredients: 
Sprouted Green Gram Dal – 100 gm
Toor Dal – 100 gm
Onions – 1 no
Ginger – A small piece
Green chilli – 2 nos
Red Chilli – 1 no
Asafoetida – a pinch
Salt - as needed
Directions: 
Wash and soak Green gram dal overnight in a clean vessel.
Soak toor dal atleast for 2 hours before preparing the vada in separate vessel.
Drain the water of the toor dal wash it completely and keep it aside
Grind the toor dal, green chilli, red chilli, chopped onions and ginger in a mixie. Don’t grind it to a fine paste and without adding water to get a crunchy, munchy vada.
Transfer the mixture in to a vessel and add a pinch of asafoetida,curry leaves and salt to the mixture.
Take a small amount of the above grinded mixture and make it fine balls and flatten it by using fingers.
Dip it in the sprouted green gram dal and keep it aside.
Heat oil in the kadai and fry the vada until both sides are done
Footnotes: 
Soak the green gram dal overnight or atleast 7 hours in a separate vessel. You can see small white roots shooting out which is powerhouse of nutrition.
See to that you don’t grind the mixture with water as you won’t get the vada in the desired form.
You can use oven to cook this vada if you don't want to fry.
