Prawn Potato Karahi Zhatpat (quick Prawn And Potato Curry)
This is my quick and easy prawn recipe. Small prawns are preferred as they are more tasty and the masala mixes nicely. This recipe can be cooked on pan or on tawa.
Prawns -1 cup deveined clean washed prawns
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon
Chili Powder – ½ teaspoon or as per taste
Onion – 1 medium sized chopped
Tomato – 1 medium sized
Potato – 1 medium cut in 1 cm piece
Fresh Coconut – grated ¼ cup
Tamarind – 2 cm piece crushed in water to make smooth paste
Oil- 2 tablespoons
Heat oil in a pan. First start with sautéing the onions on medium flame till it is translucent.
Add prawns and cook till it changes color.
Now add potatoes, turmeric powder, salt, tomatoes, chilli powder and cook for 2 mintues.
Add 2cups of water bring the curry to a boil. Turn the heat low, cover the pan with a lid and cook till the prawns and potatoes are cooked well.
Finally add the fresh grated coconut and mix. Cook for 2 mintues more on low heat.
Serve hot with Chappati.
