Raw Banana Porichathu/ Kelyache Kaap (crispy Raw Banana Snack)

This dish is one of my secret weapons when I have unexpected guests at home. Raw banana is easy to find at vegetable marts and I always keep a few handy as they last long. Raw banana fry as I call it, is a spicy banana snack shallow fried and needs minimal ingredients. Great accompaniment with any Indian meal.

Ingredients: 
2 Raw Bananas without skin
1 Tbsp Ginger paste
1 Tsp Red chili powder
1 Tsp Turmeric powder
Rice flour to dust/ coat
1& 1/2 Tsp salt (or to taste)
Oil for shallow frying
Directions: 
Slice the Bananas thin in a slight diagonal direction.
In a Bowl mix all other ingredients except rice flour and oil. Other ingredients when mixed will form a thick paste.
Apply the paste/ masala to each banana slice and keep aside. Let it marinate for 5 to 10 Mins
In a pan heat oil for shallow frying. Take some rice flour in a plate
Coat each slice of banana in rice flour and place it in the pan.
Cook the banana slices for about 5- 10 minutes on low heat on both sides. Cook till they turn a nice golden color
Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot with simple dal chawal or any Indian Meal.
Footnotes: 
When you the cut the raw banana it starts discoloring immediately, Soak them in water to avoid discolouration
You may also use semolina/ suji/ rawa to coat the bananas for a more crispy texture
