Sabut Masoor Dal (whole Red Lentil )

I have learnt this recipe from a youtube video, and fortunately when I tried first it came out to be perfect. This dal is very rich in proteins and helps satiating your hunger level.

Manuja Goenka's Secret Indian Recipe !

Whole Red Lentil - 1/2 cup
Red Kidney Beans - 2 tbspoon
Salt to taste
Red Chilli Powder - 1tspoon
Ginger - 2 inch pieces ( chopped )
Butter - 2 tbspoon
Oil - 1 tspoon
Cumin seeds - 1 tspoon
Garlic - 6 cloves ( chopped )
Onion -1 large ( chopped )
Green Chillies - 2 ( slit )
Tomatoes - 2 medium
Garam Masala Powder - 1 tspoon
Wash and soak dal and rajma overnight in three cups of water.
Drain the water in the morning.
Pressure cook dal and rajma in three cups of water and add salt and half red chilli powder to it.
Cook till three whistles.
Open the lid and check whether the rajma is soft or not. If not cook it on low flame.
Heat butter and oil in a pan.Add cumin seeds.
When the cumin seeds starts spluttering add ginger, garlic and onion to it. Saute till it becomes golden brown.
Add green chillies and tomatoes and saute on high flame.
Add remaining red chilli powder to it and cook till tomatoes are pulpy
Add the dal and rajma (along with the liquid) to the above gravy.
Add some water to it if it is too thick.
Add garam masala and a little salt, if required.
Cook on low flame till the dal is properly cooked and blended
Serve it with naan or tandoori as breads.
