Savory Potato Bites

It is easy to cook but still very tasty tea time snacks. It is crispy from outside.

For filling
4 medium boiled potatoes
1tsp sugar
3tsp red chilli powder
1tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp amchur powder
1sp garam masala powder
3tbsp desiccated coconut
salt to taste
For chutney
4tsp tamarind pulp
1tsp sugar
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste
For coating
1/2 cup gram flour (besan)
1/2 cup all purpose flour(maida)
1tbsp oil
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 pinch asafoetida( hing)
salt to taste
oil to deep fry
Mix all the ingredients of coating together. Rub it with palm and mix properly.
Now add water to it and knead the dough. it should be like puri dough. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Mix all the ingredients of filling together except potatoes to make dry filling masala. Mash the boiled potatoes.
In nonstick a pan heat 1tbsp of oil add dry filling masala. Cook for a minute add mashed potatoes mix properly. Cook for few minutes. Remove from stove.
Mix all the ingredients of chutney together stir it till the sugar dissolves.
Now divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll all each portion with the rolling pin. these roties should be little bit thick.
Spread 1 tsp of chutney over it. Then spread potato filling over it.
Keep another roti over it . Again spread chutney and potato filling over it.
Roll it tightly in a cylindrical shape, when you come to the end apply little water to seal it. Roll it tightly and properly.
Similarly make another roll.
Now cut both the rolls into 1 inch pieces.
Heat oil in a pan to fry ,it should not be very hot. Deep fry all the bites at medium or low flame ,so that it should be cooked properly from inside. Fry till golden brown and crispy.
Savory potato bites are ready to be served with tea.
Fry only when you want to serve them.
