Shahi Mix Matar Malai ( Cottage Cheese In Creamy Gravy)

As the name suggests it is a paneer side dish recipe which is cooked in cream gravy along with green peas. This gravy uses Makhanas. Traditionally, in India use of dry fruits in curry is considered as key in enhancing the taste and the richness of the recipe

Paneer (cottage cheese) 150 grams (3.5 ounce)
Matar (green peas) 4 tablespoon
Makahana 4 tablespoon
Onion Paste 2 tablespoon
Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoon
Cumin powder 1 tablespoon
Black pepper powder ½ tablespoon
Red chilli powder ½ tablespoon
Fresh Cream 2 tablespoon
Milk ½ cup
Refined Oil 4 table spoon
Salt 1 tablespoon
Sugar ½ tablespoon
In a pan put the 2 tablespoon refined oil and shallow fry the makhana. Grind the fried makhanas into powder and keep aside.
In the pan pour the remaining oil and sauté the paneer for a minute, take them out and keep it aside.
Afterwards put the onion and ginger- garlic paste and sauté for two mintues.
Add cumin powder, blackpepper powder, red chillies and fry for 5 mintues.
Now add Cream, makhana powder, green peas, milk, salt, sugar and paneer and cook it over low flame for 10 mintues.
Serve with Naan or chappati.
