Sindhi Besan Tikki Ki Sabzi (fried Gram Flour Patty In Gravy)

One of the easy and tasty option for a side dish, when you have no vegetables in your refrigerator to cook. The best thing is it goes very well with rice or chappati.

Ingredients: 
For Tikki
Besan (Gramflour) – 1 and ½ cup
Onion – 1 small finely chopped
Green Chilies – 3-4 Finely chopped
Fresh Coriander Leaves – 3-4 tablespoons Chopped
Cumin and coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
Poppy seeds paste – 2 teaspoon
Lemon juice – 2-3 tablespoon
Water to make patty.
Salt to taste
Oil to fry
For Gravy –
Onion – 1 medium sized – chopped finely
Tomato - 1 medium sized – chopped finely
Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1 teaspoon or as per taste
Cumin and coriander powder – 1 tablespoon
Black pepper powder – ½ teaspoon
Garam Masala Powder – ½ teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil- 4 tablespoons
Directions: 
For Tikki mix besan, onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin and coriander powder, turmeric powder, poppy seeds paste, lemon juice and salt in a wide bowl. Add very little water and make a pakora like batter.
Heat a pan and brush oil. Form small rounded tikki from the batter and shallow fry them on both sides. This will take about 15 mintues.
For Gravy heat the oil and first add the chopped onions. Fry till they turn translucent. Add tomaoto and cook till they are soft.
Add cumin and coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder and pepper powder and cook till they start leaving the oil from sides.
Add 2 cups of water and salt to taste. Let the gravy come to a boil. Add the tilkkis and cook for 10 mintues.
Just stirr once. Stirring frequently may break the tikkis.
After 10 mintues switch off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves.
Footnotes: 
After cooling, the tikkis soak the excess water in the curry so put the tikkis and cook for just 10 mintues before serving.
