Sindhi Dal Pakvan

Dal pakvan is a sindhi breakfast dish.In simple language its a combination of Dal and crispy fried puri.In Mumbai there are many joints offer Dal pakvan in morning.But I must say once you make this recipe at home you will stop bringing from out.so pls give a try.In our family we dont prefer such heavy breakfast so we make Dal pakvan for dinner as well as lunch.So here you go.

Mansi Desai Joshi's Secret Indian Recipe !

Ingredients: 
Chana dal-1cup
Soak chhola-1/4th cup
.Mung or chhilka wali mung dal-1/4th cup
You can make dal with only chana dal also but mung and chhola give a nice taste to dal
Oil-4to5Tbs
Green chilly-3to4
Ginger-1inch grated
Haldi-1tspn
Red chilly powder-2to3tsp
Salt to taste
Kitchen king masala-2tsp
Chhola masala-2tsp
Amchur powder-1.5tsp
For PAKVAN-
2cup of Maida
1/2 jeera
1/2 ajwain
Salt to taste
3Tabs ghee
Water as required
For IMLI CHATNI-
Handfull of imli
Salt to taste
Soth powder-1/2tsp
Red chilly powder-1tsp
Black salt-1/2tsp
Sugar-1/2tsp as we prefer it less tangy, can avoid also
Onion-1/2choped
Green chilly-1/2finely choped
Dhaniya-sprinkle on top
Directions: 
Soak the chana dal for 2hours
Soak chhole also
Now take oil in a cooker and add green chilly and ginger.
Now add all the masala chilly powder,amchur powder,salt,haldi,kitchen king,chhola masala.
And saute for sometimes.
Now add the dal,chhola and moong mixture.
Dnt need to soak the moong,you can directly add with the Dal mixture.
Saute the Dal mixture well with masala for 5-6minutes,
Now add required water.And give 5-6whistles.
Till dal mixture became soft.let it cook on gas for sometimes.
Switch of the gas after the dal became little thick.
For PAKVAN-
Take 2cups of maida add jeera, ajwain,salt,and ghee in it.
Add water as you require and make nice dough.
Rest the dough around 1hour.
Roll out thin big puris out of it and dock it with a fork.
And let it sit to dry a little.
Now deep fry the puris till golden brown and crunchy.
For IMLI CHATNI-
Soak imli for 1/2an hour,and then boil it
Extract its pulp in a bowl.
Add onion,chilly powder,salt,green chilly,soth,black salt to it.
And your chatni is ready.
Serve the steaming hot dal with pakvan and tangy imli chatni.
Garnish with Dhaniya patti.
Footnotes: 
If u want to skip the chhola and moong then take 1+1/2cup of chana dal.
