Tamatar Adraki Murg
This is my Mother-in-Law's special preparation. Served with parathas or pulow this recepie is reall yummy.
1/2 kg chicken
100 gms ginger juliennes
1/4 tablespoon turmeric powder
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/4 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoon corainder powder
6 nos big sized tomatoes chopped
1 1/2 tablespoon refined white oil
1/2 cup water
Cut the chicken pieces along with the bones into 8-10 pieces and wash them properly
In a wok, heat the oil and put the chicken pieces. Add 1/4 tablespoon of salt and cook for 5 minutes
Now add turmeric and chilli powder and mix properly. Then add the coriander powder. Mix and let cook for another 5 minutes. Spray water if required, to avoid burning.
Now add the ginger juliennes and mix properly. Add 1/4th cup water so that the chicken does not burn and let it cook.
When the chicken becomes tender add the chopped tomatoes. Mix properly and let cook in low flame for sometime till the tomatoes become very soft and pasty. Mix in between to avoid burning. Add little water if required.
After the tomatoes are cooked properly switch off the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
Now add the sugar and mix properly again. Switch on the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve warm with prathas or pulow/pillaf
