Thakkali Mezhukkupuratti (tomato Stir Fry)

This is a simple and spicy side dish served in small local restaurants in Kerala. This is a very easy to make and well-loved recipe and is the hot favourite among the working women due to the easiness in preparation.

Thakkali mezhukkupuratti (Tomato stir fry)
Tomatoes, chopped - 4 big.
Onion, chopped -1 cup
Mustard seeds-1 teaspoon
Green chilli - 4nos.
Curry leaves-2nos.
Ginger garlics paste-1 teaspoon.
Salt- as you need.
Chilli powder-1/2 -1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1 pinch
Oil-4 table spoon
Switch on the stove and place a pan on the stove.
Add oil into the pan and heat it.
Add mustard seeds to the hot oil.
When mustard seeds splutter, add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and onion and sauté well till onion turns a golden-brown.
Then add into it, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and tomatoes.
Sauté it well on a low flame.
Stir frequently so that it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
When the tomatoes get fried, add salt and curry leaves and turn off the flame.
It goes best with dosa, chappathi etc.
