Unniappam is a very common tea time snack in Kerala. It taste very well that small kids loves it. It is also the favourite snack of my husband.

Ingredients: 
Maida or all flour -250 mg
Rava- 250 mg
Yeast-1 pinch
Jaggery-1 ball
Cardamom-2 or 3 crushed
Oil -to fry
Directions: 
Add a little water to jaggery and bring it to boil.
Filter it so as to remove the impurities.
Mix maida, rava, yeast and cardamom to the jaggery solution and keep it for six hours.
Then pour oil to an unniappam chatti.
When the oil becomes hot pour a tawa full of dough.
Fry it till the whole unniyappam reaches dark brown colour.
Tasty and delicious unniyappam is ready.
Footnotes: 
Tastes well when rice flour and banana is used. Ghee can be used instead of oil.
You can get a crunchy feel, when fried coconut pieces are added.
