Vazhakoombu Thoran (banana Blossom Stir Fry)

I make it in the way my mother used to do . We had banana plants in our backyard in our native place and thus my mother used to cook it very often , and after moving to the city I buy this vegetable whenever I find it in the market.Banana blossom is rich in dietary fiber and vitamins.

Ingredients: 
Banana blossom 1
Small onion 8 nos
Green chilly 4 nos
Grated coconut 2 cup
Curry leaves 2 sprig
Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
Oil 2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
Salt as you need
Directions: 
Remove the outer hard leaves of banana flower until you see the light coloured part
Wash it
Finely chop it
Mix it with oil
Coarsely grind the coconut with onion,green chilly,curry leaves and turmeric powder
Put a pan on the stove and switch it on
When it is heated pour oil
Add mustard seeds when the oil is heated
Allow it to splutter
Add chopped banana flower
Add salt
Stir it for 3 mnts
Close the lid and allow it to cook for 10 minutes in low flame
Add the grinded coconut
Stir it well
Cook for 3 minutes

Green gram can be used in this stir fry to make it more tastier
