Vegetable Burger

This Sunday I planned to make burger at home with Indian spices. The result was awesome. The addition of Indian spices to the mashed potatoes imparts a tangy flavor to the patty. Although, procedure is little bit lengthy, but the outcome was really yummy.

Ingredients: 
Burger Buns - 4
Round Slices of Tomato and cucumber
Onion Rings
Tomato Ketchup
Lettuce leaf
Cheese slice (optional)
Breadcrumbs- 6 Tablespoons
Vegetable Oil- 1-2 Tablespoons
For the Potato Patties / Aloo Tikki:
2 Large Potatoes
Salt as per your taste
Garam Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder - ½ teaspoon
Coriander Powder - ½ teaspoon
Turmeric Powder (Haldi) - ¼ teaspoon
Cumin (Jeera) Powder - ½ teaspoon
Chaat Masala Powder - 1 teaspoon
1 handful of Coriander, chopped finely
Corn-flour maida paste recipe:
Cornstarch (cornflour) - 1 Tablespoons
All Purpose flour (Maida) -3 Tablespoons
Directions: 
Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker, also boil the peas.
In the meantime, make corn-flour Maida paste - take a bowl add Maida, corn flour and required amount of water and make a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Now peel the potatoes and grate it.
Add green chilies, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, dry mango powder, red chili powder, boiled peas and salt and mix everything together.
Divide the mixture into equal sized balls and make large patties of it.
Dip each patty in corn-flour Maida paste and then roll in the breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a non stick pan for shallow frying and gently place the patty.
Fry till golden brown from both the sides.
Assembling burger recipe :- Slice the burger buns horizontally and fry in some oil till crispy.
Now keep both the halves on the plate and apply the tomato sauce on the lower part of bun.
Place a lettuce leaf on that. Gently lift the patty and place it on the lettuce leaf.
Arrange the onion rings and tomato and cucumber slices.
Apply the tomato sauce to the other half of the bun too and cover.
Garnish with cucumber and tomato slices. Serve immediately and enjoy.
Footnotes: 
If you so wish, you can add a slice of cheese too on top of the patty.
