Amchur (Dry mango powder) (optional)
One big bunch of coriander finely chopped
Directions:
In a Pressure cooker add 3 tbsp ghee, when hot add chopped garlic & Jeera give it a quick mix
Add the Dal along with 2 cups of water, followed by Haldi, Chili powder, Amchur and salt.
Add coriander at this stage or as a garnish later (I prefer adding it at this stage for the flavor to blend well)
Pressure cook till the Dal is soft and cooked. (Usually 3 to 4 whistles should be enough)
Serve this dal hot on rice with achar and papad
Footnotes:
You may also use onions to add a little more texture to this dal. I prefer to keep it simple -)
