Ingredients:
For Wheat Nankhatai;
Wheat Flour - 3/4 cup
Maida (Refined Flour)- 1/4 cup
Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup
Baking powder - a pinch
Salt - a pinch
Desi ghee melted - 1/2 cup ( may vary )
For Decoration and filling :
Tutti-frutti
Choco chips
Kesar
Pista
Decorative colour balls or Gems
Khoya or Mawa
Sweetened Condense milk
Directions:
For making nankhata: Preheat oven at 375 F. Sieve wheat and maida twice. Add baking powder, salt and sugar. Knead it well with help of melted ghee till it forms a dough. I generally knead with ghee till the dough can hold shape. Give desired shape and decorate it with choco chip or tuttu frutti or kesar pista.
Decorate only half of the biscuits a the remaining half will be used as base and do not require decoration
I used all the mentioned item for decoration to make assorted biscuits.
Once shaping and decoration is done bake it for 20-25 mins..It took 25 mins for me. You can check the bottom of biscuits after 15 mins. When it turns light brown, its almost ready.
For filling: Heat khoya on medium flame. Add condensed milk as per required sweetness, Mixture should be semi-solid to hold shape. When the mixture is cooled give it a peda shape and sandwich it between 2 biscuits..
TADANN...its ready to eat!!!
