Kanda Poha / Atukula Upma
Onion Poha is one of the healthy breakfast recipe from Maharashtra, India. Poha is a maharashtrian word for flattened rice and kanda means onion. This is a quick and simple recipe to prepare for breakfast.

Ingredients:
2 cups Thick Poha / Flattened Rice
1-1/2 cups Water (to soak the poha)
1 Onion (chopped finely)
4 Green Chilies (slit into two)
2 Tbsp Raw Peanuts
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt To Taste
2 Tbsp Oil
2 tsp Chana Dal
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1/2 tsp Urad Dal
1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
4-5 Curry Leaves
2 Dry Red Chiles
A Pinch Of Asafetida
Directions:
Take 2 cups of thick poha or thick flattened rice in a bowl.
Add 1-1/2 cups of water and set aside.
Take a kadai or a pan.
Add oil and heat it on medium to low flame.
Now add the raw peanuts and fry until it slightly changes it's color.
Add chana dal, mustard seeds, urad dal, cumin seeds and fry until the mustard seeds start to splutter.
Add in the curry leaves, dry red chilies and a pinch of asafetida.
Now add in the onions and green chilies.
Fry until the onions are translucent.
Meanwhile check the poha, it would be moist and soaked perfectly in the water.
Add turmeric, salt and the poha.
Mix well and cook the poha for 2 minutes.
Once done garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
