Pal Aluva (milk Halwa)

Milk halwa is a famous sweet in Tamil Nadu. This is a mouth watering dessert filled with the taste of milk, ghee and cashew nuts. I usually like to have some sort of sweet after my meal and hence I try different types of sweet recipes. This is very simple to make and hence can be served as an after- meal sweet.

Ingredients:
Milk- 2 cups
Sugar- 1/2 cup
Rava (Semolina)- 1 cup
Ghee- 6 tbsp
Cashew nuts- 10
Directions:
Grease a tray with ghee and keep it aside
Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan and fry the cashew nuts in ghee till nuts turn light brown in colour
Heat a heavy bottom pan. Add milk, sugar, semolina and 4 tbsp of ghee into it and stir continuously so that the semolina do not form lumps
Stir well until the milk gets thickened
When it starts leaving the sides of the pan, switch off the flame and transfer it to the greased tray
Add the fried cashew nuts to it and spread evenly in the tray
When cooled, cut into any shape as desired

You can also serve the halwa chilled
